Monash World News

Team Members Introduction:

My name is Daniel D’Alfonso, and for my blog I will be covering the issue of Soccer violence in the UK in the wake of the recent brawls that took place outside Upton Park after a recent league cup game between West Ham and arch rivals Millwall. Because our blog is focussed on a local perspective, i have managed to find some willing interviewees who have experienced soccer violence in the UK and have also experienced soccer games in Australia

My name is Noni Garratt and I will be the correspondant for the United States. My blog will firstly be covering the recent death of Ted Kennedy and its effect on American Politics as well as Australian. Because our blog is focused on World News but from a local perspective, I will be trying as hard as I can to show any effect that American news stories will have on our local community.

Hi, my name is Samantha Henderson and I will be your friendly Iranian correspondent!

I would like to focus this particular page on the women in Iran; specifically i would like to bring a rather unheard of (at least by Western standards) view of Iranian women and the power they wield in the home. To this point I have come to realise that the picture painted by the mainstream media does not necessarily always take into account the views of the people they have come to write about.

This blog is another view; another door, another pathway, into understanding the culture of the Iranian people and how it strongly it influences the decisions they make in regards to not only their political choices, but also their every-day lives.

I very much look forward to sharing some local Iranian’s perspectives of this topic with you, and also to your responses of the posted stories!

  1. Your blog is very plain, which means that the content is easy to follow. Try putting some pictures into your blog, this will make it appear more interesting and will make your blog brighter.
